We know from archaeological excavations around the world that the desire to adorn our bodies with jewellery has been ingrained in our hearts since the beginning of mankind. Throughout the ages virtually every conceivable material has been used for this purpose: – bones, stones, baked clay beads and of course, metals. Metals have pushed the possibilities of jewellery making to entirely new dimensions and the techniques for using them in this way continue to be perfected to this day.
Because of the great demand for unique accessories, a separate field of jewellery making was born, for which not only manual dexterity but also imagination and artistic flair are necessary. In our Art Clay Silver Level I course, you will not only get a glimpse of the methodology behind it, but with the help and advice of our colleagues, you will also learn to create jewellery yourself!
The course is led by our colleague, Mrs. Jana Veselová, who is the only person in the Czech and Slovak Republics authorized to provide this type of course, making this a very exclusive offer.
Graduates of this course will learn the basic techniques of working with metal clays and making jewellery and costume jewellery from metals. In addition they will also learn the principles of: pricing, product photography techniques, marketing basics, website preparation and last but not least the basics of working with people on the courses and much more.
This course is designed for those who wish to try a profession they have only dreamed of so far and are looking for a way to approach it. In the future they can potentially make a living from their new skills and advance to the level of master craftsman. However, the course is also suitable, for example; mothers on maternity leave, people caring for family members or people with disabilities who find it difficult to find employment in standard jobs.
It is not a classical form of retraining, but the outcome is almost identical. After completing the Art Clay Silver level I course and the Art Clay Silver level II course, it is possible to register with the Assay Office as a certified artist.
A nice bonus is a 20% discount on Art Clay Silver, Silver and Copper, which is not limited in time, with the Czech distributor. Each student will receive our book, Jewelry from Modeling Metals.
The price includes all material to create 4 pieces of jewellery, plus support materials for home preparation (porcelain clay). Each student also receives a pack of necassary tools, which they keep after the course. The payment amount can be divided into two or three installments, by agreement, until the start of the course.
In the case of a completely individual course, the price is 5000Kc higher.
Duration of the course: 2 days
