Forging a knife or dagger has traditionally been one of our favourite experiences. During the forging experience, which is the most time-consuming of our experiences, lasting about 4 hours, you can experience how challenging it is to forge a quality knife so that the blade is smooth and sharp.
If you would like to learn how blacksmiths, knifemakers and armourers worked in the Middle Ages, come and visit us in our new blacksmith’s workshop right in the centre of Prague. Our experienced blacksmiths – knifemakers will guide your hands during forging and you will take home a beautiful knife. So don’t hesitate to come and visit us in person or buy this experience as an original gift.
Description
Come and try your hand at blacksmithing! Become a blacksmith for a day and experience what it is like to stand all day at the forge! You will not leave empty-handed, you will always take away your own product from our joint forging!
Do you want to know how medieval blacksmiths – armourers worked? In our experience forging you can try how difficult it is to forge such a knife so that the blade is smooth and of sufficient quality! When forging, your hand will be guided by our experienced blacksmiths. So do not hesitate to come or buy this experience to someone as a gift.
What can you expect?
This is an experience for guys who want to try a proper craft! You have an unique oportunity to forge your own knife in aproximately 4hours!
How does it work?
Our blacksmith will show you how to heat a piece of iron and work it with a hammer on the anvil and you will create your own knife. You choose the size and shape yourself. We will explain and show you the technique. You do not need any special equipment, we will provide you with tools and materials. We recommend wearing work clothes, that you do not mind getting a little dirty, and some sturdy shoes. We will be happy to lend you all other protective equipment.
How much does it cost and where does it take place?
Total price 4900,- CZK in our shop in Rybná 21, Prague – Old Town or also in our new blacksmith and restoration workshop called. under the tail at the Museum you have the opportunity to get to know the work with metal and fire during 3-4 hours.
Who is it suitable for?
For men from 15 years of age (possibly also for women, for minors we want a signed consent of the legal guardian).
In addition to a new experience, you will take away a handmade product :).
